Homemade Floor Cleaners

To protect you and your loved ones from strong chemical cleaners while also keeping your beautiful floors clean, try one of these homemade cleaner recipes utilizing basic household ingredients.

All-Purpose Floor Cleaner
For sealed wood, tile, laminate and linoleum mix equal parts white vinegar and hot water and mop. Vinegar acts as a disinfectant, leaves your floors shiny, and the smell dissipates once dry.

Wood Cleaner and Polish
1 gallon hot water
3/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup lemon juice

Mix all ingredients together, wet and wring out your mop well, clean and let dry. The hot water and lemon clean while the olive oil creates a nice sheen.

Disinfecting Cleaner
1 gallon hot water
¼ cup borax
Stir the borax into a mop bucket of hot water and stir until dissolved.

All of these methods save you money and protect you from harsh chemicals while still cleaning up tough messes. Each recipe is as simple as mix and clean with no rinsing required.
